Write your own travelogue with wegetthere
Have you ever wanted to be a travel writer, to see your own stories published between two hard covers and bound with glue? Now is your chance and you don't even need a publisher to do it. For a lot of travellers the word travel goes hand in hand with freedom. Shouldn't you also be able to write your own story?
Travel means Freedom is a new initiative by the travel bloggers behind wegetthere to compile the first travel book ever to be written by the travel community.
It's really easy to join. All you need to do is download the Microsoft Word template to your computer, write your travel story (approx. 1000 words) and then submit it online, attaching the .doc. Easy, right? The books title will of course be "Travel means freedom" and the team is currently looking for funny, creative, insightful and well-written stories from your travels whether they were near or far. It's all about your perspective and your ability to convey that in your story.
All contributors will be able to earn 80% profit of all digital books they sell which means that after your story gets included, you need to sell the e-book to everyone and anyone you know... and all their friends to make some money out of it. 59% of any books sold through the wegetthere website will go to a charity that provides clean water around the world.
- Deadline: November 22, 2011
- # of stories in the book: 111
- Word count per story: 1000
Do you have a travel story to tell? What are you waiting for?
