If you're going to go, do it right. Here are ten things you should do before leaving the city.

  1. Take a photo of Lisbon's Belem Tower. Not just any photo, get creative.
  2. Hire a car and head to Sintra for the day.
  3. Grab your heels and head for a night out in Bairro Alto.
  4. Head to St. George's Castle and try to climb the walls.
  5. Save room for custard tarts at the famous Antiga Confeitaria de Belem. Mmmm...
  6. Take a classic yellow tram through the old town.
  7. After custard tarts, grab a coffee. Ask for a bica at a cafe in Chiado.
  8. Enjoy some live fado music late at night.
  9. Find a miradouro that you can't live without.
  10. Dusk or dawn, take a walk along the waterfront near the Parque das Nacoes.

Have you been to Lisbon before? What were your favourite experiences?
