A Moscow Airport revealed that they will soon allow passengers to check-in to their flights using Skype. Is this the future? Passengers flying out of Moscow Sheremtyevo International Airport are now able to check-in to their flights with a simple Skype video call. All it takes is a call to "svo_checkin". The call will include a short interview, just like you would at any normal check-in counter. You'll need to provide the agent with your name, flight details and to show your passport to the camera during the call. At the end of the call you will be able to print out your boarding passes.

This can be done up to 24 hours before your flight, depending on the airline's individual regulations. Airlines from Turkey, Hong Kong and China have all agreed to give this new system a try and see how it works. From today, up to 20 airlines well let you check-in using Skype. Airlines include: Transaero, Air Astana, Royal Air Maroc, China Eastern Airlines, Estonian Air, Hainan Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Iran Air, Jat Airways, Turkish Airlines, among others.

Just imagine, you can check-in while you're on the go and avoid one more line at the airport, making your journey that much more stress-free and hassle-free. Russia isn't the only country trying out next technologies, most major US airlines let passengers check-in with their mobile phones, allowing them to board the plane with a mobile boarding pass.

The airport expects 15-20% of passengers will opt to use this service, would you?
